When contacted, New Mangalore Port Deputy Conservator Capt Karan V Vaswani said that the experts have been carrying out the survey around the sunken ship.
Stating that an anchor handling supply tug is expected to reach Mangalore from UAE in two days, Capt Vaswani said the experts are also surveying the area (depth) around the sunken ship so that the off-shore supply vessel can go near M V Den Den to transfer oil from the sunken ship. The 13-member team led by Mr Amith comprises experts from Netherlands and South Africa besides India.
It may be recalled that 3 sailors lost their lives while 21 sailors were rescued when the Eritrian vessel sank near Mangalore on June 23.
