The High Court on Tuesday quashed the State government order that had posted an officer working as Deputy Director in Cooperation department to the post of Commissioner, Shimoga Urban Development Authority(SUDA).
The Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph disposed off a writ petition by P G Ramesh, whose post as SUDA Commissioner had been disturbed by the said government order.
Mr Ramesh had challenged the order passed on the day of issuance of calender of events by State Election Commission for urban local body polls, posting K B Veerapura who was on deputation with Cooperation Department to the post.
The Bench directed Mr Veerapura to immediately relinquish the office so that Mr Ramesh could resume his duties.
The Court however clarified that it was open for the government to transfer Ramesh, while directing it to provide a suitable posting for Mr Veerapura.
