Crackers seized

City Market police seized crackers worth Rs 20 lakh stored illegally at a lodge in the City Market area. Three persons, Muktirai (23), Iqbal (38) and Ejaj (24), were arrested in this connection. A search is on for Rajendra, the lodge owner. Inspector Nanjunda Gowda said crackers were kept in six rooms of the lodge.

Man killed by gang

A gang of unidentified persons assaulted and killed a man in front of his parents at his house  at Nelagadanahalli in Peenya on Monday night. He has been identified as Manjunath (28). He was into real estate business.

Differences over sale of a property belonging to his relatives is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.

Manjunath was sleeping at his home when unidentified miscreants entered his house. According to Peenya police, Manjunath was running an autorickshaw before entering into real estate business. Recently, he had arranged the sale of a property on Magadi Road belonged to his relatives. A few persons demanded money from him, but he had refused to pay them.

Man run over by bus

A man died after he was hit by a BMTC bus at Hebbal flyover on Monday evening. He has been identified as Shivaprasad (43). He was crossing the road when the incident occurred.

Two-wheeler rider killed

In a hit and run case, a two-wheeler rider, identified as Nanjundappa (35), died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle in Ananda Nagar on Monday evening. He is a businessman residing in Yelahanka.
