Award

Prof D K Mahabalaraju, a Community Medicine professor at JJM Medical College, Davanagere, has been selected for Karnataka State BOLT (Broad Outlook Learner Teacher) Award. The Award, instituted by Air India, recognises outstanding teachers from across India. The award will be presented in December.

Diwali to light students’ lives

Bangalore, dhns: In an effort to light up the lives of needy students, Bangalore Midtown Ladies Circle (BMLC) - 54 organised a fund-raising event called 'Diwali dhoom dhadaka' on Tuesday.

Musicians Gopi and Steve enthralled the gathering with a musical programme. Speaking on the occasion Rita Ajmera, Chairperson of BMLC - 54 reiterated that women should come forward and devote some time for social causes.

All the proceeds from the event will be utilised to build classrooms for a government school at Munireddy Palya.
