The State government has suspended six officials and employees of the Horticulture Department, in connection with alleged irregularities in implementing projects under the national horticulture mission and the drip irrigation scheme in Bijapur district.
The suspended officials are: Somashekara Hulloli, deputy director, Bijapur; Shankara Dayanandasagara, assistant horticulture officer, Basavanabagewadi; K L Lamani, horticulture assistant, Basavanabagewadi; Govinda Naik, assistant horticulture officer, Sindgi; Satish Badiger, assistant horticulture officer; Muddebihal and C S Handi, assistant horticulture officer, Sindgi.
The suspension orders were issued after a preliminary investigation into the irregularities found prima facie involvement of these officials, according to an official communication.
