Rehman Khan, who escaped from Forensic Science Laboratory on Monday, may have fled to Maharashtra, said DCP (South East) Soumendu Mukherji.
Rehman was brought to the City by the government railway police (GRP) officials from Nagpur for a polygraph test and narco analysis on Monday and Tuesday. He escaped when the investigating officer was briefing Dr Malini, additional director FSL.
“We have no information of him being in Bangalore. He may have escaped to Maharashtra,” Mr Mukherji said.
Meanwhile, Belgaum Superintendent of Police, Hemanth Nimbalkar said that Khan may have crossed over to Maharashtra via Kolhapur. “We have also alerted the Nagpur government railway police and their Mumbai counterparts,” he added.
