Reliance Retail unveiled yet another speciality store ‘Reliance Footprint’ in Bangalore and Hyderabad on Wednesday, which would offer a wide range of footwear, handbags and footwear accessories.
Located on 100 ft road Indiranagar, the store will feature over 25,000 products catering to all categories such as formal, casual, party wear and sports footwear.
Addressing a press conference here G Shanka, Reliance Retail Chief Executive (Footwear) said, “Reliance Footprint would be a destination for the family where it will offer a wide variety of footwear and accessories for men, women and children.” He added that this speciality store would aim to cater to 50-60 per cent of the population.
Expansion plan
“We will be opening 15 stores in the next year across metros and Tier II cities and have a target of 100 stores by 2010,” he added.
The next couple of stores will be opened in Delhi, Kochi, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Tirupathi. Spread over 10,000 sq ft, the store would have over 60 domestic and international brands across all variety of footwear, along with its own private labels namely Mancini for men and Viviana for women.
The overall footwear industry is estimated to be Rs 15,000 crore, growing at 10-12 per cent annually. “We expect to have atleast 10 per cent of the market share in the next four-five years,” Mr Shankar said.
