The Faizabad police has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for anyone volunteering information on Shashi Kumar, the 22-year-old believed to have been abducted and murdered by Anand Sen Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh minister.
Meanwhile, in another revelation Shashi’s younger sister Anita has said that her sister had confessed to receiving threatening phone calls from Indu Yadav, Anand’s wife. This admission is yet another parallel with the Madhumita Shukla murder.
Indu Yadav has alleged a political conspiracy behind the allegations.
Indu has said that her husband had nothing to do with the girl. On Wednesday, Faizabad police spent five hours unsuccessfully trying to fish out the girl’s body from Gomti river. Vijay Sen, the minister’s driver had told the police that the girl had jumped into the river after willingly leaving Faizabad with him on October 22. Post mortem reports of the period however do not show recovery of any such unclaimed body.
The girl’s father Yogendra Kumar has produced some more photographs and another letter in English to prove that her daughter was close to the minister.
