In a meeting helmed by senior leaders, including KPCC President Mallikarjun Kharge and former chief minister N Dharam Singh, the partymen urged the leaders to impress upon the Centre against yielding to the “parade politics” adopted by coalition partners, the JD(S) and the BJP.
It is understood Kharge and Singh told partymen that unless they are invited to Delhi for discussions on the issue, they couldn’t initiate the next step in this connection.
They also discussed the relevance of criticism by senior JD(S) leader H D Revanna against JD(S)-BJP MLAs’ parade at the President’s residence. Later, Kharge told reporters the MLAs’ parade was staged with an eye on the ensuing Assembly polls in Gujarat.
The party will resume its State-wide Janandolana campaign against the “opportunist” politics endorsed by the JD(S) and the BJP, after the AICC meeting scheduled on November 16 and 17.
