Top seed Woman Grandmaster D Harika remained at the second spot after bting Tatev Abrahayman of the United States in the sixth round of the World Junior Girls chess championship here.
The victory helped Harika move to five points out but Vera Nebolsina remained a full point ahead with her sixth victory on the trot at the expense of WGM Eesha Karavade.
Besides Eesha, Soumya Swaminathan ended on the losing side against Gutierrez and remained on four points, while Padmini Rout increased her chances of a WGM norm after beating Marine Grigoryan and moving to four points as well.
The other two Indian girls in the fray — Mary Ann Gomes and P Priya — also scored fine victories over Karelle Bolon of France and Anna Rudolf of Hungary respectably to move to 3.5 points apiece.
In the World Junior Championship, G N Gopal beat Pablo Garcia Cardenas to take his tally to 4.5 points.
