Edurite Technologies was founded 7 years ago with the objective of providing interactive educational resources for learners that were not only convenient to use but also effective in disseminating knowledge. Could education combine with technology in such a way as to provide a comprehensive e-learning experience for students? This was the challenge that Prof Jawahar, the Director of PES Institutions along with G S Ravi, advisor and consultant, Lubrizol Corporation, USA, took up, when they started Edurite.

Today, Edurite has products catering to learners from the Kindergarten classes to students of 12th standard with 80 e-learning products that are curriculum specific as well as generic (for the CET exams, Engineering etc), IT based and sometimes even custom made.

It has built an in-house library called the Reusable Learning Objects (RLO) which has more than 5000 animations, over 200 hours of video, more than 10,000 diagrams. These can be used for customising products to clients’ specifications.

Edurite Technologies has been successfully marketing its highly interactive e-learning product called Digital Library of Learning Objects (DigitALly) in educational institutions to aid student learning. The product with over 5000 animations, 20 hours of video and 10,000 diagrams help give students an audio-visual perspective of concepts that they only normally read in their textbooks. Students in institutions that have adopted it can now supplement their readings of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology with the product. English, Geography and Social Sciences will be added to the list soon.

DigitALly, which works on MS power point also has the added advantage of being a teachers’ training tool even as it plays the role of a students learning module. Teachers can integrate their own content into DigitALly and customise their lesson plan in whatever way they deem fit for their students.

Edurite is the only private company in India that Microsoft has licensed content from for it’s e-learning initiative project ‘Shiksha’, in government schools. Edurite also developed content for DSERT and a product for the CET Cell, government of Karnataka. Other clients include NIIT, the Muslim Education Society, more than 250 Kendriya Vidyalayas etc
