The Department of Indian Posts had organised a tatkal post passport service mela at the Siddaganga Engineering college between October 4 and 8.
The principal of the college Dr K Krishnamurthy inaugurated the mela. The students and the staff who are interested in getting the passports are hugely benefited by this mela. The postal department has done the right thing by organising this mela in the college, he said.
The mela which was initially to be held for three days however, was extended by a day due to the demand by the students. As a result both the students and the staff were benefited.
The mela was held under the leadership of the postal superintendent K Radhakrishna. The postal staff cooperated with the students and answered all their queries. Service was given to nearly 572 passport aspirants.
Vice prinicipal Sudarshan also Sanjeevkumar cooperated. Assistant superintendent K S Gopalakrishna and Dr Y M Reddy were also present. Sales officer K V Venkatesh, Rajani, Rekha, Nethravathi, Radhakrishna, Malya, Manmohan, Nataraju, Shyamsunder, Doddarangaiah, Dattatreya Dube and others participated.
