A team led by Tahsildar L C Nagaraju has recovered domestic gas cylinders which were being used for commercial purposes from the shops and black market here recently.
The team raided some shops, hotels and dhabas recently. During the raid, the team recovered 60 cylinders.
Tahsildar has recommended the police to take action against gas agency owners. In other incident, the team has seized 200 litre kerosene and 10 empty barrels from a bus owner. According to sources bus owner was allegedly using kerosene for private vehicles, which had to be distributed to ration card holders .
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided bus owner’s house and seized kerosene. The authorities concerned has assured of taking stringent action against the culprit.
Apart from this, there were complaints that liquor and petrol have been adulterated with water. The raid was led by Tahsildar S R Umashankar.
Mr Uma-shankar has warned that stringent action will be taken against such people.
