Free coaching for bank exams
 Tumkur Kanada Career Trust has organised free coaching for those interested in taking the bank exams for the 3, 274 posts called by State Bank of India and its associate banks.
This workshop will begin on October 14 at 10 am at Bhaskar Computer Academy, 3rd Cross, MG Road. Interested may contact 9880325242.

Applications invited
Bangalore Agriculture University has invited applications for the awards to be presented to the progressive farmers in the current year. The award will be presented at the Krishi Mela being held from November 16 to 19.
The award includes a certificate, memento and Rs 1,000 cash.

The district’s progressive and women farmers can submit the application for the award, said Tumkur Agriculture Science Centre programme coordinator Dr Y N Shivalingaiah.

The eligible farmers may collect the applications from Joint Agriculture Director office, Tumkur Agriculture Science Centre, Tiptur or horticulture department, veterinary department, sericulture department or fisheries departments. The applications will be issued from morning till evening.

The last date for sending the applications is October 25. For more details call mobile no 958134-294771.

Summons to Tumkur varsity
The Karnataka Information Commission has issued a summons to Tumkur University as it had not given the required information under the Right to Information Act.

City’s Saras Information Relation organisation manager R Vishwanath had asked for details under RTI regarding appointment and other details. The applicant had filed a complaint before the Commission that the university had declined to give the information.

The Information Commission which went through the complaint has served a summons on the public relation officer of the university to appear for the hearing on October 26 at 10 am in the Commission’s office with relevant documents. If he fails to appear then necessary action will be taken, he has been warned.

Meet for disabled
The demand for equal rights for the physically handicapped will be held on October 16 and 17 at the Siddaganga mutt. As part of the district-level meet a rally will be taken out on October 16 at 3 pm from Anjaneya Swami temple. The physically challenged are requested to participate in large numbers both at the rally and the meet, said the presidents of Gubbi taluk Physically Challenged association president Narasegowda and Lokesh in a press release.
