Manipal Institute of Technology Department of Chemical Engineering will be organising a two-day national-level workshop on ‘Recent advances in energy and environmental management systems’ (RAEEMS-07) on October 12 and 13 as a part of its golden jubilee celebrations.
Department of Chemical Engineering Head Dr B N Reddy addressing a news conference on Wednesday said that experts from central and state agencies connected with energy and environmental management and also consultants in the area of energy conservation are invited to deliver the lectures. The topics of the workshop include ‘Energy conservation and renewable energy and nuclear energy,’ he added. Karnataka State Pollution Board Chairman Dr H C Sharathchandra will deliver the inaugural address and MRPL Managing Directior R Rajamani will release the proceedings. Dr Senguptha, Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board will deliver the keynote address on Status of Air Pollution Control and CDM (Clean development mechanism) Projects in India. Joint Director, MIT, Dr Muniswaran and Selction Grade Lecturer, Dept of Chemical Engg, MIT, S Harish Kumar were present.
