A clear picture of the Ammadlu encounter can be obtained only after studying the reports of Forensic Science Laboratory and police investigations. Statements of 35 persons have been documented in this connection, said Magisterial Enquiry Officer Dr T N Reju.
Speaking to reporters after finishing two day’s enquiry at the taluk office regarding the encounter on Tuesday, he said the people of Menasinahadya have observed that there is a lack of infrastructure and the government machinery is not reaching the remote areas. The statements of police officials, leaders of various organisations, relatives of the killed and villagers have been documented. Two physicians who conducted post mortem had also participated in the enquiry. The enquiry of other doctors and police officers will be conducted in the Chikmagalur district centre in the next week, he said. The points noted during the enquiry cannot be revealed before the completion of the investigation. The media persons were kept outside during the enquiry only for the reason that the details appearing in the media would create problems for the participants, he clarified.
