Outer Space Missiles For Peace
New York, Oct. 10.
Mr Henry Cabot Lodge today pledged United States readiness to join in an initiative for ensuring that outer space missiles were used only for scientific and peaceful purposes “without waiting for negotiations on other substantive proposals.”
Mr Lodge made this offer before the United Nations Political Committee, which began its crucial disarmament debate.
The Most Popular VIP To Visit Japan
Tokyo, Oct. 10.
Prime Minister Nehru has drawn the biggest attention and interest of the Japanese among all the 17 State guests who have come to Japan since the end of the last war.
In a despatch yesterday, Japan’s news agency Kyodo, gave appreciation of Mr Nehru’s visit.

CWC-I Undecided On Timing Of Polls

New Delhi, Oct. 10.
Despite lengthy discussions on Karnataka till late last night and Andhra this morning the Congress could not decide on the timing of the elections in the two States.
A number of leaders were invited to present their views before the CWC(I) which met today informally with Mr Kamlapati Tripathi in the chair.
Divergent views, expressed on the state of party organisation in the two States made the task of the High Command rather difficult.
