Board chiefs stick to seats
DH News Service, Bangalore:
The State government collapsed days back, but more than half of the BJP legislators and party functionaries who had been been appointed heads of various boards and corporations have yet to tender their resignations.

According to sources, only 15 of the 38 members who had been appointed heads of various public sector utilities in January this year, have sent in their resignation letters. On October 7, following the BJP withdrawing support to the Government, party leader B S Yediyurappa had directed all chairpersons of board and corporations to put in their papers.

The party had appointed 17 legislators and 21 party workers as chairpersons of various boards and corporations. When Deccan Herald contacted some of them, their reactions were mixed. While Jungle Lodges and Resorts Limited Chairman R B Seriyannanawar said he had resigned from the post the day BJP withdrew its support to the JD(S), Karnataka State Slum Clearance Board Chairman Rajendra Verma said he was still waiting for an official communication from the party head office.

Nargund MLA and Karnataka Small Industries Development Corporation Chairman C C Patil said he will submit his resignation in a day or two.

No word yet
Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation Chairman N Yogesh Bhat also said he had yet to receive an official communication. “I will resign the moment I receive the communication,” he said.

As far as the JD(S) is concerned, it had appointed a party functionary as the chairman of ST Development Corporation and three members to State Women’s Commission.

But none of them have resigned as the party has not given them any directions so far.
