Recitation from scriptures
Bowring Institute in association with Geetha Cultural Forum is conducting a competition for high School students on scripture recitation (Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Quran and Guru Granth Sahib) on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.

Vipassana meditation
Vipassana Meditation and Research Centre organises 10 days residential course on meditation on 5th and 20th of every month. Vipassana meditation is most easy technique of self purification to come out of tension, depression, anger, anxiety or any harmful habit of drinking and smoking.

Yoga classes for women
Swami Vivekananda Yoga Kendra and Sri Rama Mandir Temple conduct yoga classes for ladies and gents in Yogasana, Suryanamaskara and Pranayama for three months daily from 6 am to 7 am at Sri Ram Mandir, Near Post Office, East Park Road, 8th cross, Malleshwaram.

Western Ghats camp
Society for Promotion of Adventure & Natural Awareness (SPAN) is organising State level adventure, nature orientation and leadership camp ‘The leading edge’ for children aged 10 to 18 years in western ghats region in Kodagu district.
The five day camp starts from October 15 and includes trekking, camping in tents, nature trails, wildlife games, quiz, leadership and individual development activities.

Consultation camp
As a part of World Heart Day, the Apollo Clinic- Malleshwaram is organising a free heart consultation camp from September 30 to October 7, under the guidance of interventional Cardiologist Dr Nagaraj Desai. The cardiologist consultation, dietitian, dental consultation with oral camera view examinations, will be extended as free services.

Medical camp
Sagar Apollo Hospital is organising a free medical camp on October 2, to commemorate Gandhi Jayanthi at the Dayanand Sagar Institute campus, Kumaraswamy Layout, between 9 am and 4 pm.
The camp will be attended by consultants, doctors, nurses and technicians of Sagar Apollo Hospital. ECG and blood test for diabetes check up will be carried out free if recommended by the consultants.
Free medicines will also be distributed to patients as per the advice of the concerned consultants.
Kannada classes
Kannada Prasaara Parishat, a non-profit organisation that works towards imparting the language of Kannada among people, will start its next batch of Spoken Kannada, Kannada script learning and higher Kannada classes. Classes will be held on Sundays only between 10 am and 1 pm at the Hosmat Hospital premises, Magrath Road.
