There will be no restrictions for an art and artist, if any artist or art is restricted, neither artist nor art will grow, said National College Kannada Department HOD Professor A K Ningappa.
Speaking after inaugurating the ‘Samskrutika Sourabha programme’ held under the aegis of Kannada and Culture Department and Bharati Vidya Samsthe, he said real artist, culture, sport and artists are never confined to one particular state or nation. Moreover, one should never look at any artist in this way, he added.
When Kannada and Culture Department organises programmes in border areas, Telugu language will be an obstacle as folk culture is in Telugu. Moreover, that culture is deeply rooted in them. Hence, it is not possible to measure culture on the basis of a language. Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director B S Venkatachalapati said all languages should be given equal importance in border areas. He stated that large number of Bagepalli artists are getting monthly pension.
Moreover, the region is blessed with good culture, artists and art. The department has been doing various programmes since many years. “If any organisation comes forward to organise programmes, the department would provide all sort of co-operation”, he added.
Chintamani Block Education Officer Reddappa, Town Panchayat Member Chandrashekar, Dharmadarshi K M Nagaraj, Social Worker K S Sreenivas, Bharati Vidya Samsthe Manager Shivappa, Secretary P S Rajesh, Head Master Ramakrishna and others were present.
