After the hit ‘Kannadada Kanda’, veteran actress Leelavathi brings ‘Shukra’ starring son Vinod Raj. Newcomer Priya Dikshit is cast opposite Vinod. The film is directed by Mudduraj, camera is by Mallikarjun and music by Gowtham.
Circle Rowdy (Kannada)
His father Tiger Prabhakar starred in several films with the word ‘rowdy’ in it. Now, the son follows in his footsteps. ‘Circle Rowdy’, directed by Ramamurthy (who last directed ‘Rambha’) promises entertainment galore. Story is by producer B Satyanarayan, camerawork by Gowri Venkatesh and music by S P Raj. The film features notorious Shakeela in an important role. Also starring Khushi, Shobhraj and Jai Jagadish.
Laaga Chunaari Mein Daag (Hindi)
Rani Mukherji and Konkona Sen Sharma star as Badki and Chutki, live with their parents — played by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan — in Varanasi. The family go through difficult times financially and to ensure Chutki completes her education, Badki is forced to go to Mumbai to help her family. She experiences the city’s seamier side. Chutki falls in love with Vivaan (Kunal Kapoor) while Badki is torn by a difficult romance with Rohan (Abhishek Bachchan). Soon the sisters confront.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa (Hindi)
Priyadarshan directs this remake of the 1993 Malayalam hit ‘Manichitrathazhu’. Badri (Manoj Joshi) heads a Brahmin family whose ancestral mansion is believed to be haunted. One day, his relatives Siddharth (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), decide to spend a month in their ancestral home. Unnatural events begin to take place. Badri and Batuk Shankar (Paresh Rawal) try to ward off the danger with the help of a priest and a parapsychologist.
