Kannada film director S Mahendar on Thursday joined the BJP. At a function held at the party office in Malleswaram, BJP State Unit President D V Sadananda Gowda, inducted Mahendar into the party.

Mahendar, known for his family oriented films, said he would be interested to contest from Kollegal on the party ticket for the Assembly polls.

Meanwhile, senior leaders of the party including B S Yediyurappa, Ananth Kumar,  K S Eshwarappa met and decided to extend the “Punish the promise breakers and save Karnataka campaign” till the month-end.
A massive rally has been planned during the last week of October in Bangalore, which will be attended by Rajnath Singh and L K Advani
