JD(S) president faces music
DH News Service, Bangalore:
JD(S) party workers are enraged at the way the party has treated them. It not only the JD(S) MLAs who are fuming, but also party workers who are making allegations.

This was evident at a function organised to mark the 105th birth anniversary of Lokanayak Jayaprakash Narayan at the party office in Bangalore on Thursday.

JD(S) workers took party State President Merajuddin Patel to task, for neglecting them during the last 40 months.
They were airing their grouse against the party’s failure to appoint chiefs to various boards and corporations.

“You were in power for 40 months and what did you do for workers?... Only you people enjoyed the power and completely neglected party workers”, they complained. Had the party given power to the workers, it would have been easy for them to face the elections, the workers said.

Tough time
It would have helped organising the party at the local level. Mr Patel, who had a tough time in convincing the workers said, the party was finalising the list of workers to be appointed for various boards and corporations when it lost power. “When an earthquake hits, everything will perish. That is the fate of all of us now. Let us forget the past and look forward to future”, he advised them.

AHIMA PATEL RESIGNS
JD(S) MLA Mahima Patel, on Thursday, tendered his resignation to party’s primary membership. He was upset with JD(S) decision not to hand-over power to the BJP.

He forwarded his resignation to party’s National President H D Deve Gowda. In his letter to Mr Gowda he said that he cannot continue with the party, which could not stand by its promise. “I can’t identify myself with the JD(S). I will launch my own party”, he said.

He also told party’s national president that MLAs unhappy with the party’s decision are worried of facing the public after betraying the BJP and they are holding secret meetings.
