Philips Electronic India on Friday announced the ‘Innovation Day 2007’ - a two day programme to be held at the Philips Innovation Campus (PIC) here on October 15 and 16, 2007. The Innovation Day recognises ideas incubated at the PIC. Currently the focus of the PIC is innovation in the Healtcare sector.
Speaking at the Innovation Day, Alexius Collette, CEO of PIC revealed a product in the preclinical workspace called ‘Imalytics Workspace,’ a solution for imaging analytics which has been completely engineered at PIC, Bangalore. “A 20 member team developed the product within 18 months completely from the Bangalore campus,” he said.
The product is a scanner to help conduct trials on small animals. This tool will help pharma companies, life science laboratories, etc to reduce the time-to-market cycles and development of new compounds, the company said.
