Speaking after inaugurating Wildlife week celebrations organised at the Dr Shivaram Karanth Biodiversity Park in Pilikula, he said Pilikula is one of the bio-diversity parks in India. A visit to park will provide peace to the mind.
“It is our responsibility to protect the wildlife. If we fail to protect the wildlife, there is a danger to the mother earth,” he warned.
“There has been drastic decline in the number of cattle, dogs, cats in the rural areas. Animals have resistance powers. We can lead a healthy life with their company,” he added.
Mudushedde Gram Panchayat President Kavitha Dinesh called upon the authorities to develop Pilikula Biodiversity park without harming the localites.

As part of Wildlife week, drawing and quiz competitions were held for school children. Students from more than 150 students from various schools took part in the competition. Artist Ganesh Somayaji gave a demonstration on drawing to the children.
