Mahanavaratri Utsav begins in Kollur

Mahanavaratri Utsav will be organised at the famous Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple from October 12 to 21.


Mahanavaratri Utsav will be organised at the famous Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple from October 12 to 21, according to Temple Management Committee President Krishnaprasad Adyanthaya.

On October 20, Chandika Yaga will be organised in the morning while rathotsava will be organised at night. On Vijayadashami, that is, October 21, Vidyarambha programme will begin at 4 am, while Navannaprashana will begin at 12.30 pm and Vijayotsava will begin at 5.30 pm.

The seves which will be offered as per vows taken by people will be auctioned in public and cultural programmes will be organised everyday.

Cultural programmes

On October 13, Ravishankar P Mumbai will present Kathakali at 4 pm while Sri Kalamandalam Gopinath of Kathavananthara in Kerala will organise classical dance programme at 6 pm. K V Vasanthan of Ernakulam will present a dance programme at 9 pm.

On October 14, Anjali from Udupi will present Saxophone recital at 4 pm, while Vikraman Pillai from Mumbai will stage a classical dance. Sri Mookambika Yakshagana Kalasangha will stage a Yakshagana programme at 9 pm.

On October 15, Sukumaran from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala will present Navaratri Mahatme while H S Pundarika Bhagavath will present a dance-drama at 4 pm.

Raghuramakrishna from Bangalore will present a music concert at 6 pm which will be followed by a dance programme by Dharmalayam Krishna Nayar of Thiruvananthapuram. 

On October 16, Ramadevi from Trissur in Kerala will present a programme at 4 pm while Radha Namboodiri of Mumbai will present a classical music concert at 6 pm. Dr K R Kalpakam from Chennai will present a dance programme at 9 pm.

On October 17, Mysore AIR artiste H N Jagadeesh will sing bhajans at 4 pm, followed by a classical music concert by Pavandeep of Bangalore at 6 pm. Karthika from Tamil Nadu will present a dance programme at 9 pm.

On October 18, Shankaran from Kochi will present a Bharatnatyam programme at 4 pm, while Chitra will present a dance-drama at 9 pm.

On October 19, Seema and Suma from Koteshwar will present a saxophone recital at 4 pm while V R Parvathi from Raj from Trissur will present a dance programme. This will be followed by a dance programme by Anupama Mohan from Tamil Nadu at 9 pm.

On October 20, a variety entertainment programme will be presented by Vishwadeep at 4 pm while Tushar Srivasan from Tamil Nadu will present a Bharatanatyam programme at 6 pm. At 9 pm, G S Krishnalal from Kerala will stage variety entertainment programmes.

On October 21, at 6 pm, Smith S Raj from Kozhikode will present a classical dance programme  which will be followed by a music programme by K G Venkatakrishna from Bantwal.
