Apart from the editions and series, luxury pen brands reinvent constantly and innovatively. What else can explain the brand that actually celebrates the old whimsical way of writing with a quill? Rubinato from Italy make pens that imitate the old-fashioned quills. And you actually need to dip the fountain pen in ink before writing. With eye catching quills (eagle, ostrich, pheasant and peacock), these pens are dainty and gracious enough to let the quill hog the show. Also available are ball pens that seem like an extension of the quill. The prices are affordable enough for luxury of this kind.
Talking of affordability and luxury, there are some pens that combine the two and then add in some technology for good measure. The technology is high end with none other than NASA having used these pens. Well, Fisher pens are said to write on earth and beyond. With exciting names like Bullet, Astronaut and Space pens, they rule the roost in this category. The Space pen has a pressurised ink cartridge that feeds the ink to a specially developed ball. Even the ink is specially made. What can we say to such technology except that do not forget to take this pen with you when you are in a space station or underwater or on any planet (with temperatures from -300 F to + 2500 F) or are just upside down. You never know when the writing urge hits you.
And then, there are pens for every occasion, every theme and every period. Again, these pens are affordable enough to please your special ones.
