'Beef up security at ajmer dargah'
New Delhi, DHNS:

The Union Home Ministry on Friday asked the Rajasthan Government to strengthen security arrangements in and around the holy ‘dargarh' at Ajmer which came under terrorist attack on Thursday.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT)  has been constituted by the State  to investigate the blast which would `co-ordinate closely with other Central and State agencies.’  This information was provided to  Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta by the  Rajastahn police.

The Union Home Secretary  emphasized the need  for stepping up security and vigil around the famed religious place during a detailed telephonic talk on Friday with Director General of Police (DGP) of  Rajasthan .

The DGP informed Gupa  that the State Government has held `consultation’ with the Dargah Committee and others concerned.  “Further discussions will be held to see what arrangements are feasible to strengthen security,”  said Rajasthan  DGP.

A Post Blast Investigation team of NSG has gone to Ajmer. The exact nature and type of device used in the blast is being examined by experts, the ministry said.
