“We have to save the dying folk arts in the rural areas which are being lost because they belong to the economically backward areas” said senior artist S D Bhojaraj. He was speaking after Champa’s play ‘Kodegalu’ in Sugganpalya in Gubbi Taluk.
Director Melehalli Devaraj who also spoke on the occasion added that it had become imperative that everyone with an artistic mind needed to work towards saving the essence of rural India and its arts.
Commercialisation
With the commercialisation of all and everything and the destruction of peaceful coexistence and cooperation, it has become impossible for the communities to function as a whole.
Youth’s responsibility
He also added that if the youth did not take up the responsibility of saving the arts, it would not be long that rural India would be completely mechanised.
