During his first meeting with officials from the State’s major departments and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, Governor Rameshwar Thakur raised concerns about the crumbling road infrastructure in Bangalore. He said many groups, including foreign dignitaries, had brought to his notice the issue of traffic congestion in the City.
“Bangalore needs to live up to its image of a top-class international city and one of the areas that I would like to focus on is infrastructure issues concerning Bangalore,” he said. Work on Metro Rail and other infrastructure-related works have to be taken up on a priority basis and the pace of these works has to be accelerated, the Governor told the officials. The officials concerned are set to meet next week for a review of the City’s infrastructure.
