Id-Ul-Fitr was celebrated in the City and all over the district with lot of religious fervour and gaiety. After ending the fast in this Ramzan month, the Muslims offered mass prayer at the Idgah. Mass prayer was also held in Tiptur, Madhugiri, Gubbi, Chikkanayakanahalli, Pavagada, Madhugiri and Sira. After the prayres the Muslims and other community people hugged one another and exchanged greetings. The friends of the Muslims were invited to their homes for a feast.

He said that Tumkur was known for communal harmony and it had been a model also. Everyone should come together and work hard towards the development of Tumkur, he added. District Congress president Shafi Ahmed and others were present.
