AT A GLANCE

No power supply

There will be no power supply on October 16 from 9 am to 5 pm. The areas that would be affected are: Widia factory, HMT Layout, Chokkasandra, Vinayak Nagar, D B Kallu, C N Palya, M S R Layout, Bagalgunte, Dasarahalli, Sidedahalli, M E I Layout, Zindal, Anchepalya, Manjunatha Nagar and surrounding areas.

Dasara Festival

The South Bangalore Cultural Association is all set to host Dasara Festival and Durga Puja in the Bengali tradition from October 17 to 21. The colourful celebration will also include a series of cultural programmes between Oct 18 to 20.

The Festival will be inaugurated by former Union Secretary to Education, Achala Moulik, at 7 pm on October 17. On that day, Bhodana Utsav and Maha Shasti Pushpanjali Puja will be performed.

On the following days, Maha Sapthami Puja, Maha Ashtami Puja, Maha Nabami Pushpanjali, Bijaya Dashami, Pushpanjali and Prasad Devi Baran will be performed. The festival will conclude with bisarjan (immersion) on October 21.

The events will be held at NR Kalyana Mantapa (Adjacent to Mandovi Motors), Bannerghatta Road, JP Nagar, 2nd phase, Bangalore and is open to all.
