Totem Infrastructure Private limited, Hyderabad, which has been vested the contract to complete the base work of the National Highway road widening work from Surathkal to B C Road, has informed that the said work is aimed to be completed in 7 months.
Addressing a news conference, Totem Project Director Kameshwar Rao on Monday said that the company has brought in new equipment worth Rs 10 crore and with the new machines coming in the works must be completed soon.
He said that the company is vested with the responsibility of doing the base work of this 37 km stretch in 2005, which for various reasons could not be completed.
Answering a query as to when the road will be motorable, Mr Rao said that the main contractor, IRCON International Private Limited have to take up the main asphalting works and hence he is not in the position to say when the roads will be completed. While he said that the 20 kms works will be done by then by next May but the remaining works will be delayed as the fly over works in the region has been completed first.
