“Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is the bridge of brotherhood between the hearts that have been separated in the name of religion and it is the organisation which fights for equality of all human beings,” said BSP State President B Gopal addressing the Vijayothsava of the party and party workers convention organised in Sringeri on Monday.
He said that if at all constitution was implemented properly after independence then there would have been no need to form a Bahujan Samaj Party at all. Even Congress party, which ruled the nation for so many years with the support of Dalits followed only anti-dalit policies. Even BJP, which transformed communalism as its capital did not do any good to the dalit.
He said that BSP in a very short period rose to the place of third largest party of the country only due to its pro-dalit and pro-poor policies. Party State Principal Secretary Shridhar Kaliveer presided over the programme, K M Gopal delivered the key-note address.
During the occasion, Indira Shekar from BSP who won Town Panchayat elections and other Gram Panchayat winners were felicitated.
