Coffee Board has instructed the coffee growers to take appropriate measures to control the rot disease that has affected the coffee plants due to the excess rainfall that the district received this rainy season.
Board Deputy Director G H Omkarppa said that the affected leaves, seeds and other parts of the plants must be cut off from the mother plant and must be burnt and the new shoots must be opened up and 1 per cent of Bordo solution must be sprinkled over it before next monsoon to avert rot disease in the rot disease affected regions.

To avert Kanda Koraka disorder in plants, the farmers must cut off the branches and leaves that have been eaten by worms or affected by worms and burn them immediately. Even about 10 per cent of lime paste can be applied on the stem and thick mother branch.
He said that the coffee rot disease carriers like Kayokoraka has been spreading in other regions too. To this, he said that additional care must be taken.
