The Hindu Divas anniversary and an inspiration camp was organised under the joint auspices of Nehru Youth Centre and Manasa Hindi Mahavidyalaya recently.
Retired Education department officer Narasimha Jeeyar presiding said, in the present day context Hindi language was very important. Just because Hindi is important does not mean that one should neglect the mother tongue or our language. Since Hinid is a national language, we should use it as a communicative language, he added.
As Hindi is the national language it should be used in different state as a common language which will in turn be beneficial for the development of the respective states, he felt.
An art
Learning different languages is an art. By learning new languages one’s horizons will grow. One can develop contacts with people of other states, develop friendship and strike business deals. Besides development works will progress smoothly, he said.
Nehru Youth Centre District coordinating officer Jesinta D’Souza in his inaugural address said, if Kannada is our mother tongue, then Hindi is our national language.
When people converse with us in our mother tongue we naturally feel happ and this can be seen whenever we go out.
Same language
If everyone speaks the same language then the language problem does not arise. Similarly if everyone speaks in the national language Hindi, then it will be easy to do business.
Along with our mother tongue, we should develop the habit of learning more languages, he added. Rehamatunnisa, H M Mallikarjunaiah, Prasad, Ramalakshmi Nagesh and others were present.
On the occasion prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions held.
