'BEO harassing teachers'
DH News Service, Turuvekere:

Due to the negligence of Turuvekere BEO, the taluk teachers have been deprived of many facilities and they have been subjected to a lot of harassment, alleged Employees Association president Shivaramaiah Gurutara.

As the office computers have not been set right due to its dysfunction, the teachers are not getting their salaries even after 20th of the month. Besides, the additional dearness allowance which was to be given from July 2007 and included in the September salary has not been done due to the negligence of the BEO, said Gurutara in a release..

The teachers who have undergone training during holidays have not been given leave facility and included in their service register (SR). This has not happened since 2005 and in spite of the teachers giving written application in this regard, the BEO has kept mum.

The teachers who have been responsible for providing mid-day meals during summer holidays have not been given leave and when asked the BEO has deprived them of the facility telling that he has not got any order from the higher-ups.

He has also not released the money drawn related to SSA to the constituency resource persons. Even though the newly appointed teachers have received the first salary certificate, he has not released them salaries or the balance.

The headmasters who have received advance increment have not been given the facility till now. By delaying collecting the HRMS information on time, he is deliberately delaying, alleged Gurutara.

He is also harassing the teachers who have taken loan from the Teachers Cooperative Association by deducting it from their salaries and depositing it in the BEO account instead of returning it  to the association, thus harassing the teachers and the association, he charged. Thus the BEO is harassing the teachers at every stage, said the president.
