'Krishna relevant even to day'
DH News Service, Tumkur:

Lord Krishna was never in favour of war, he was always against the war and that is the reason he is so relevant  even to this day, said litterateur M Nagappa giving a  different interpretation to the traditional conception of lord Krishna.

He was speaking at a conference organised at Gubbi Veeranna Kalakshetra by the Tumkur district Golla Yadava Samiti as  part of Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, held here on Sunday.

Earlier, in the programme organised by the Samiti an attempt was made to understand and describe  Lord Krishna. BJP Youth leader B Suresh Gowda inaugurated the rally that was taken out from Government P U college with folk art forms. The colourful rally culminated at Kalakshetra.

Chief guest Sogadu Shivanna said that the Yadava community is distinct because of its cultural and traditional solidarity. The culture and rituals of the Yadavas is unique in itself, but the fact that it remains backward even in this modern age is disturbing, regretted Shivanna.

The educated people in the community should take concrete steps to uplift the community, he said. The steps taken by the Samiti in this direction is commendable, he added.

The Yadava community should come forward in effectively utilising its government facilities, said ex MLA Krishnappa.

Krishnappa said that during his reign  a hostel  was sanctioned for Yadava community and even a foundation stone was laid in this direction but till today the hostel has not been built. The office-bearers of the association established for this purpose should introspect their actions, he urged.

If the hostel can’t be constructed by the Samiti then it is wise to disolve the association, fumed Krishnappa who opined that hostel is must for the development of the community children.

Every one in the community should strive to develop it in social, political and economic way. Lot of changes need to be brought out in the community, opined Krishnappa.

Muniappa Muddappa urged the community people to join the societies main stream. He said that community people by educating themselves should uplift even other backward communities .

Chitradurga’s Yadava Mahasansthana Mutt seer Yadavananda swamiji who presided over the function explained the need for community awareness and the necessity to develop in the society.
