Remembrance meet of Vee Chi, Guddaiah, Naik held in Tumkur
DH News Service, Tumkur:

A healthy environment needs to be created by inculcating progressive thinking and secular values in the society, said retired district judge T G Mariyappa.

He was speaking at the meet organised in memory of Professor H G Sanna Guddaiah and Vee Chi at Valmiki High School in the city, organised under the aegis of Tumkur District Technical Organisations and Industrial Employees Association.

Fought injustice

Late K R Naik, Prof Sanna Guddaiah and Vee Chi fought against the injustice in the district through progressive movements. Also, these three people through their lives highlighted what true friendship meant.

They led a simple life never compromising their values and fought for justice in a forthright manner. However, when one spoke to Vee Chi one would get the feeling of having read several books, said Siddaganga College Prof Shankarappa.

Sanna Guddaiah and Vee Chi played a very important role in the public life and helped in  creating a better environment, he recalled.

Indispensable

Vee Chi, Sanna Guddaiah and Naik were an indispensable part of the public life. They were always in the forefront when it came to fighting for the rights of the oppressed and victimised. Prof Sanna Guddaiah by opening stalls of Kannada books created a literary atmosphere in Tumkur.

Also, these three have played a very pivotal role in the creation of the Tumkur varsity, opined critique Dr G V Anandamurthy. Also, speaking on the occasion poet K P Nataraj said that they tried to create awareness in Tumkur people by organising talks of senior national leaders in the city.

These three are the rare personalities of Tumkur city, observed Hari Katha Vidwan Lakshman Das.

Also, present on the occasion were Dr S M Bhaskarachar, Thimme Gowda, Lakshmikanth and others.
