No More Trifling With Awards
New Delhi, Oct 15.
State Labour Ministers, meeting here today at their 14th conference, are understood to have agreed that the law should be amended to provide deterrent penalty for the non-implementation of awards given by tribunals and other authorities.

It was suggested at the conference that the present penal provisions should be altered to provide that non-implementation of an award would be a continuing offence and the offender would be fined for every day of non-implementation.

Bombay, Oct 15.

A wall clock in the office of the Detection of Crime Branch at the police headquarters in Bombay has been stolen, it was reported today. Officers of the CID branch found the clock missing from the wall on the first floor of the building yesterday when they came into office.

‘Rajiv Mission’ To Study Poll Prospects

Hukkeri, Oct. 15.
A special team of the Congress(I) is touring the State to study the poll prospects in the coming Assembly elections. This team consists of Legislators, Youth Congress men and party leaders from the Northern States. The brain behind this mission is said to be Mr Rajiv Gandhi, MP. The team is especially directed not to rely on party MPs and MLAs.
