The Lord, with his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi, is supposed to bless the devotees on the fourth day of the Navarathri Brahmotsavams on the sacred hills.
Lord Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Lord Venkateshwara, bedecked with gold ornaments, carrying a flute in his hand, atop Kalapa Vriksha Vahanam was taken in a procession around the four streets leading to the temple.
The legend says Kalpa Vriksha, the wishing tree, used to exist some thousands of years ago during Vedic period. One could ask for anything standing in front of the Kalpa Vriksham and his wish will be fulfilled.
The temple management has been facing a tough time for the last two days in managing the crowd. The police have installed metal detectors all round the temple.
On Tuesday, the deity will be mounted on the Garuda Seva Vahanam. Lakhs of devotees are expected to participate.
