Atleast five persons fell sick after drinking polluted water at  Gangammana Palya in Bangarpet on Tuesday morning.

Sarthiban, Velu, Panjamani and the other two, whose names are yet to be identified were given a first aid treatment at the local general hospital and were later shifted to SNR hospital at Kolar.

It has been said that the pipes which supply drinking water have turned out to be very old and also these pipes passed through the drains causing sickness.

Town Municipal Corporation  member Anburaj helped the sick to get admitted to the hospital and said that measures will be taken. TMC Medical officer visited the place and reviewed the situation.
