Amir Khan, the British boxer, faces trial after being accused of dangerous driving over an accident last year which left a pedestrian with a broken leg. Khan hit 55-year-old Geoffrey Hatton in his BMW convertible on March 2 last year in the town centre of Bolton, north-west England.

Mahela Jayawardene, the Sri Lankan skipper, is all set to play for English County side Derbyshire next season. The-29-year-old is likely to sign a contract this week and will be available for the team whenever he is free from national duty. He had narrowly missed out on playing for Yorkshire this season.
