The Raithara Horata Samithi has decided to fight tooth and nail against the denotification of 176 acres of prime land, which government had acquired from the farmers in and around Bangalore for developing layouts.
The convenor of the Horata Samithi D S Gowda alleged that the Kumaraswamy government passed 35 denotification orders between September 26 to October 6, well before the transfer of power.
He questioned the need for the government to acquire the land from the farmers, when finally it was to be denotified. Gowda said, around 176 acres of lands have been denotified in the recent past and the politicians made good business out of it.
“At a throw-away price, the government acquired land from us to develop various layouts and finally it denotified the land. As the land prices have touched sky high, we poor farmers are not in a position to purchase it again.
Who else will buy the land than the real estate dealers. The government denotified 176 acres of land only to facilitate them,” said Gowda. According to Gowda, at Koramangala also, government did the same thing. “When the land price is around Rs 25 crore per acre, government denotified it, making the re-purchase of the land by the farmers nearly impossible,” he alleged.
The convenor of Horata Samithi criticised the Congress Party for not raising this issue inside and outside Assembly.
He alleged that the Congress party had devising the modus operandi of denotifying the land acquired by the government from farmers.
