Rlys geared up to meet rush
Expecting a huge rush for Navarathri celebrations, Railways have made elaborate arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.
With Mughal Sarai incident, where 13 women were killed in the Railway station in stampede, still fresh in memory, the Railway authorities in Bangalore have assigned nine ‘Special Duty Officers’ (SDO) to control crowds.
These administrative rank officers will be deputed even during the night to monitor the rush and issue guidelines accordingly. These officers will be empowered to take decisions on their own, said sources. An officer said, “We are expecting huge crowd during Navarathri and Dasara. So we do not want to take chance.”
