SOS Children’s Villages of India has extended its educational support and encouragement to two deserving boys from a vulnerable family who were finding it extremely difficult to continue their studies as their father has deserted them two years ago and the mother who has been doing odd jobs was unable to pay the fee of these boys.
These two boys are twins and excellent performers in their studies. The elder boy Shashikiran is a student of distinction. He has won government merit seat in MBBS and has now progressed to the second year. He has secured 97% in class 12th science stream. His marks reads as follows: Physics 100/100, Chemistry 97/100, Mathematics 98/100 and Biology 97/100. He has scored a high first class in I year MBBS. The second boy Shashikanth is pursuing B.Com III year. He had secured first class in class 12th and also in his I, II, III and IV semester B.Com.
SOS Children’s Villages of India came forward and provided them the necessary resources and the opportunities to develop their abilities to the fullest. The elder boy was awarded the Hermann Gmeiner Scholarship. The scholarship covers all academic and living expenses like books, fees, stationary, clothing etc as per the requirement. He has also been provided with warm clothing allowance, pocket money etc. Educational support was also extended to his twin brother.
