People along with their physical health should give more importance to their mental health too. The farmers’ suicides are occurring due to weak mental attitude. In the more than one billion population in the country, nearly 2 per cent of the population are suffering from mental disorders, said senior advocate B Muralidhar Pai.
He was speaking after inaugurating the law awareness camp organised as part of the World Mental Health day and said the poorest of the poor can get mental treatment from government hospitals.
Tahsildar A L Manjunath said more than the poor people, 80 per cent below poverty line (BPL) class who have physical problem have got this benefit. All they have to do is get two photos and 40 per cent physically challenged certificate made.
He asked all the physically challenged to submit their applications to the president of taluk physically challenged association who in turn in will collect all the applications and submit it to him.
Advocates Association president B N Thimmappa said his association like every year, this year also had organised the law awareness camp and added that if the people want free legal service then they should get in touch with the association office-bearers and seek help.
Dr B Choudary Nagesh who presided said that if the physically challenged wanted a certificate then they should get in touch with him. Ganesh rendered the invocation. Mohammed Ghouse welcomed. Advocates B Muddegowda, Hucchhegowda and Physically Challenged Association president Aralikere Mahalingappa were present.
