MP S Mallikarjunaiah called upon the students not to just involve themselves in studies but also actively participate in sports and games.
He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day division-level kho kho tournament for high school boys and girls organised jointly by Zilla Panchayat, Public Education department and Sarvodaya educational institutions at the Vijayanagar Sarvodaya High School premises,
The students who excel in sports have a bright future and they should make use of the opportunities they get and become better human beings, he said.
Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer Manojkumar Meena who hoisted the flag said for students to become mentally and physically strong, sports and games was very essential. The sportspersons should have a sporting spirit and they should with equanimity take victory and defeat in their stride.
This was very important for the all round development of everyone, he added.
