The National Service Scheme (NSS) camp by the students of Siddaganga Pre-University College here, concluded at Nandihalli village recently.
Lectures on selfless service, serving in rural areas and other subjects were held during the camp. Cultural programmes were also conducted.
Dr H M B Hirmath, who took part in the camp, gave away some vital tips on health. He also conducted a free health check up camp. He distributed free medicines to the participants in the camp. Principal of the college A P Shivakumar presided over the valedictory function. He explained about the work done during the camp.
He lauded the efforts of the students in taking part in the camp and said NSS plays a vital role in instilling a sense of confidence among the students. This will help them develop thier personality, he added.
“NSS camps help develop selflessness and make students service-oriented,” Mr Shivakumar said.
