Kerala to start 2,315 paper bag units

Kasargod, dhns:  In the backdrop of the government of Kerala banning plastic below 30 microns, the Kutumbashree State unit has decided to start 2,315 paper bag producing centres throughout the State. This new project has created job opportunities for hundreds of women.

Kerala State Kutumbashree Director Sharada Muralidhar said that plans have been made to set up two units in each panchayat, while in city municipal councils five and in city corporation limits 10 units will be set up.  Financial help of Rs 50,000 will be provided to set up a unit with five members and Rs 8 lakh will be granted to set up required equipment.
